YELLOWFIN TUNA QUALITIES With our local partner JP fresh on Sri Lanka we are maintaining a tight control on the quality of the product. For this we have advanced equipment and own laboratory in the factory where we check each fish on diffirent parameters like for example Histamin levels. With that we can give a 100% guarantee on a superb quality without any health risks. The actual grading start at the whole fish. The meat is checked with probe and/or cut just behind the head and at the tail. Other visuals for quality fish are bright eyes, shiny skin with little till no dammage and strong body texture.

Yellowfin tuna loins are in many different qualities and even more different quality names available on the world market.
We hear names like Japanese sashimi, American sashimi, European sashimi, wrapped in paper, wrapped in cloth, unwrapped, skin package tuna, etc.
Nowadays everybody has his own idea and name for the quality of tuna.
The actual guidelines for tuna grading are no longer valid on the world market. So sashimi at supplier A can be totally different from the sashimi at supplier B.
Because of this supplier wraps the tuna to be different but if this has success, supplier B will follow his lead and then we are back to the start, same wrap but different tuna quality
Wasabi tuna is our registrated brandname for topquality and probably the best quality Yellowfin tuna available on the EU market. To stand out with this super quality sashimi we wrap it in green wasabi paper and supply it under the brand name Wasabituna. Besides the standing out, the wasabi paper has the fine quality that it keeps the moist in the tuna and the color as it should. For keeping future stocks; all our tuna are catched by handline.
