Yellowfin Tuna

THUNNUS ALBACARES

Yellowfin tuna, probably the most beautifull out of the tuna family.

This cosmopolitan specie dwells the tropical and

subtropical waters of three oceans under a water temperature of

18 till 31 degrees celcius, where they form large schools.

The individual size can go from 30 till 200 cm with a weight till 190 kg.

Fresh the product is still winning in popularity.

Cheaper and less fat than the beautifull bluefins,

it is particulary popular under the culinairy home cooks

for which it will be a treat to prepare a perfect dish from this great and versatile fish.

A Great taste and firm texture make this a popular choice. 

Perfect barbequed or flame grilled as the texture of tuna is meaty,

works well with hot spices and can be cooked leaving a pink centre as

you would a fillet of beef. 

Also a popular sushi ingredient as it freezes well and can be eaten raw.
