Beside the fact that this fish is very tasty, it is also the most sustainable substitute for the other species of tuna. Also as Sashimi and Sushi, there we call him by his Japanese name “Shiro Maguro”, the Albacore gets more popular by the day.

 

The Autralian Albacore TWWF offers comes from a new fishery, recently opened under AFMA Management (Australian Fishery Management Authority), offering sustainable& traceable Fresh and/or frozen Australian Albacore Tuna products. The Australian albacore will be supplied under their sustainability logo.

Taste & Texture

Albacore tuna becomes firmer when cooked. Albacore is excellent grilled and baked but is also perfectly suitable for Tataki, Sashimi and Sushi.


Sizes of Loins & Fish

One of the smaller species of major tunas, Albacore nonetheless grows as long as 140 cm with a weight of 60 kg. Average size will be 80 till 100 cm with a weight of 15 till 30 kg. Average loin size will be between the 1.5 till 2.5 kg.
